Seamark (BD) Limited is a subsidiary of the Seamark Group owned by the Ahmed Family with its head office headquartered in the UK. Since inception, Seamark plc, the first company in the Seamark Group, made a number of remarkable achievements processing
seafood and other frozen food products and exporting all over the world. It was a recipient of the Queen’s Award for Export Achievement in 1998 and the first European Business Award the following year.
The company is growing steadily and has huge plans to expand in different areas, particularly agricultural products. Seamark (BD) Limited was established in Bangladesh in year 2000 and was inaugurated by HRH The Princess Royal (Princess Anne). It’s a 1 OOH export oriented seafood processing industry backed by 100a British investment. Initial investment was in the region of 10m US dollars. The growth of the company was phenomenal in terms of value and volume of exports as well as the varieties of products it has to offer. It has become a multi-product based company. Side by side with its own growth, Seamark (BD) Limited created two more companies, IBCO Food Industries Ltd. and Seamark (Holdings) Ltd, formerly known as STL Ltd.
IBCO Food Industries Ltd is a state-of-the-art industrial complex where, in addition to seafood, varieties of finger food, pastry products and different types of fruits and vegetables are processed.
Seamark (Holdings) Ltd, formerly STL Ltd., was acquired by the company in 2005.
It has a shrimp and fish processing unit, 3 deep sea shrimp trawlers with their on-board freezing facilities and a hatchery unit located in Sonar Para Hatchery Zone, Ukhia, Cox’s Bazar.
